FAQ's
-
Can I take a Slingshot on the highway? You sure can! Slingshots are street-legal and can easily reach highway speeds, so don’t worry about being confined by your ride. You’ll have the freedom to go where you want, when you want, without any boundaries between you and Long Island’s sea breezes.
-
What’s your cancellation policy? That’s a bummer! We’re so sorry that you won’t be adventuring with us – at least not yet. We understand that plans can change.
-
Do I need a motorcycle license to drive a Slingshot? No you don’t. According to New York state law, all you need is a regular old driver’s license.
-
What should I wear when driving a Slingshot? There’s no dress code. You can wear whatever you want to wear. That being said, we do recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes to protect your feet. Sunglasses are a good idea to keep the wind out of your eyes, because it can get fairly intense at higher speeds. If you’re heading out at night, a light jacket can help keep you warm. It gets surprisingly chilly, and you won’t have any walls shielding you.
-
Where can I take the Slingshot?Perhaps an easier question to answer would be where you can’t take a Slingshot. Our vehicles are not built to go off-road, so as long as you stick to paved streets and highways, you’re fine. We encourage adventurers to take full advantage of Oceanside’s beautiful coastal drives, historic sites, and natural parks.
-
What happens if it rains?Well, what happens probably won’t be fun for you. Slingshots are open-air vehicles, so check the weather forecast before you book. If you do get caught in the rain, however, the vehicle can handle it no problem. Just make sure you drive carefully and travel with a raincoat. We also offer flexible rescheduling if you want to wait for clearer skies, because getting soaked to the bone tends to take away from the experience for most people.
-
What is a Slingshot?A Slingshot is like a traditional convertible except it’s completely topless. It’s also a lot sleeker, with only three wheels and a comfortable, minimal build that maximizes your freedom of movement. So, if you love the open air, you’re in luck! Personally, we think Slingshots hit the sweet spot between a motorcycle and a car. You’ll get the best of both worlds – adrenaline plus safety and stability. Slingshots are positively perfect for thrill-seekers and road-trippers alike, thanks to their low profiles and lean, sporty designs.
-
Can I rent a Slingshot for a special event?Of course you can! And although we may be a tiny bit biased, we think you should consider renting from us. Our slick, streamlined Slingshots are a great choice for things like weddings, proms, and corporate outings. Why not treat yourself and your guests to something different? Why not treat yourselves something awesome? We can help you customize your rental to make your special day even more memorable. Get in touch with us for details on event packages.
-
Can I bring a passenger? Why not? You don’t have to be the loneliest number. Life is always better together. In fact, Slingshots are explicitly built for two and offer a perfect way to take a joint coastal road trip. You’ll both have more room and comfort than you would on a motorcycle.
-
What should I know about parking a Slingshot? You park a Slingshot just like you park a car, but be careful about its low profile and wide stance. Look for level, paved surfaces, and watch out for curbs and uneven terrain – Slingshots have very little clearance underneath and ride even closer to the ground than you might already expect.
-
What if I’ve never driven a Slingshot before? No worries! We love introducing first-timers to the thrill of Slingshots. Before you hit the road, you’ll get a thorough orientation and test drive. Our team will walk you through the controls, safety features, and everything you need to know to fully enjoy your new ride with confidence.
-
How safe are Slingshots? They’re safer than motorcycles but not as safe as cars. While Slingshots don’t airbags, they do have seat belts and traction and stability control.
-
Is there a mileage limit on rentals? We offer hefty mileage allowances to give you plenty of freedom to go wherever the road takes you. [Insert specific mileage limits]. For even longer trips though, we can work out a deal for more mileage. Please contact us for details, and we’ll see what we can do.
-
Can I extend my rental?Enjoying your trip so much that you don’t want it to end? Hey, we understand. Sometimes, you just want to keep on adventuring. Reach out as soon as you can, and we’ll do our very best to accommodate a rental extension - subject to availability.
